Interview with: João Luiz Vilar, CEO | N.0 Tecnologia

João, could you briefly introduce N.0 Tecnologia, its main areas of expertise, and the mission that drives the development of your solutions?

A: N.0 Tecnologia is a company specializing in applied Artificial Intelligence, with expertise in areas such as Computer Vision, Machine Learning, Digital Twins, IoT, and Agentic AI. Our mission is to transform advanced technology into practical solutions that help organizations improve their operations, make better decisions, and accelerate their digital transformation.

N.0 operates in fields such as Artificial Intelligence, Computer Vision, Machine Learning, IoT, and Digital Twins. How do these technologies complement each other in addressing today’s industrial and organizational challenges?

A: These technologies complement one another by creating a bridge between the physical and digital worlds. IoT collects data through sensors, while Computer Vision enables systems to visually interpret what is happening in an operation by identifying products, defects, safety risks, or operational patterns. Digital Twins provide context for all this information, while Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning identify patterns, anticipate problems, and support decision-making. Together, these technologies enable organizations to build increasingly intelligent, efficient, and autonomous operations.

Digital Twins have become one of the most relevant technologies of Industry 4.0. How would you explain this concept to someone unfamiliar with it, and what value does it bring to businesses?

A: A Digital Twin is a dynamic digital representation of a real-world system, such as a machine, factory, supply chain, or even an entire city. By integrating operational data, it enables organizations to monitor what is happening, simulate scenarios, and anticipate potential issues. Its greatest value lies in providing a comprehensive view of operations and supporting faster, more informed decision-making.

The opTwin.0 platform integrates data from sensors, cameras, ERP systems, and other sources to provide a unified operational view. How does this approach help companies make faster and more informed decisions?

A: Many companies possess vast amounts of data, but it is often scattered across different systems. opTwin.0 aims to eliminate these silos by integrating information from sensors, intelligent vision systems, ERP platforms, and other data sources. This enables us to combine what enterprise systems already know about operations with what cameras and sensors observe in real time, creating a comprehensive operational view that helps identify issues and supports faster, better-informed decisions.

What role does Artificial Intelligence play in this process? How does it help anticipate problems, optimize resources, and support decision-making?

A: Artificial Intelligence transforms data into actionable operational knowledge. Through Machine Learning and Computer Vision, we can identify patterns and anomalies, predict failures, automate product quality inspections, monitor processes, and optimize resources. The goal is to move from a reactive management approach to a predictive and proactive one, enabling teams to address issues before they have a significant operational impact.

Data-driven decision-making has become increasingly important. In your view, what are the biggest challenges companies still face in turning data into knowledge and action?

A: The biggest challenge is no longer collecting data but integrating it, contextualizing it, and transforming it into concrete actions. Many organizations have large volumes of information distributed across different systems and departments. Real value emerges when data, knowledge, and decision-making are connected, ensuring the right information reaches the right person at the right time.

Looking back at your projects, what results or impacts have surprised you the most?

A: One of the most interesting aspects has been realizing that significant impact can come simply from making existing organizational knowledge accessible and actionable. By connecting data, documents, historical information, and operational expertise, organizations can reduce repetitive tasks, accelerate access to information, and uncover improvement opportunities that were previously hidden.

Your technology can be applied across multiple sectors, from industry to Smart Cities. Where do you see the greatest potential for transformation in the coming years?

A: Wherever there are complex operations, multiple data sources, and decisions that need to be made quickly, these technologies have enormous potential. In industry, we see major opportunities in applying Computer Vision to quality control, safety, and process monitoring, combined with AI and Digital Twins. We also see significant potential in energy, infrastructure, logistics, healthcare, and Smart Cities, where cameras, sensors, and existing systems can become valuable sources of intelligence for smarter management.

We are moving toward increasingly autonomous, intelligent, and predictive operations. How do you envision companies and factories five or ten years from now?

A: We envision organizations where intelligent systems continuously monitor operations, anticipate problems, and support—or even execute—certain decisions. People will remain essential, but they will spend less time searching for information or performing repetitive tasks and more time focusing on supervision, strategy, and high-value decision-making.

Agentic AI has become one of the hottest topics in Artificial Intelligence. How do you see this evolution, and how can it complement technologies such as Digital Twins?

A: We believe the convergence of Agentic AI and Digital Twins will play a major role in the future of operations. Digital Twins provide an understanding of operational context, while AI agents can use this knowledge to plan and execute actions. We are evolving from systems that simply monitor and analyze to systems capable of understanding, recommending, and, within defined boundaries, acting autonomously.

What message would you like to share with organizations that are just beginning their digital transformation journey and still see Artificial Intelligence, Digital Twins, or Agentic AI as distant technologies?

A: These technologies are no longer out of reach or reserved for large organizations. Companies can start with a specific challenge, develop a pilot project, measure the impact, and scale progressively. At N.0, we believe digital transformation should begin with the organization’s business challenge—not with the technology itself. First understand where value can be created, and then apply the right solution.

What can we expect from N.0 Tecnologia over the coming months? Are there any new developments or projects you would like to highlight?

A: We are focused on deepening the integration of Artificial Intelligence, Digital Twins, Computer Vision, and Agentic AI. One of our key investment areas is Computer Vision through optVision, applying AI to quality inspection, process monitoring, safety, and automated operational analysis. Our goal is to integrate these capabilities even further with opTwin.0 and AI agents, creating systems capable of observing operations, understanding their context, and turning that information into recommendations and concrete actions.
