Inova-Ria is recruiting on behalf of one of its Associates.
Our Associate is dedicated to unlocking the full potential of Earth Observation (EO) to better understand and transform our planet. We are looking for an EO Data Analyst to join the team in Portugal, reporting to the Innovation Department, with the goal of extracting valuable insights from satellite imagery and geospatial data to support informed decision-making.
This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to innovative projects focused on urban environments through the application of Earth Observation technologies and advanced geospatial analytics.
Objectives
- Extract actionable insights from Earth Observation and geospatial datasets.
- Support the development of innovative EO-based products and services.
- Contribute to data-driven decision-making processes in urban environments.
- Enhance the value of satellite data through advanced analytics and data integration techniques.
Responsibilities
- Analyze satellite imagery and Earth Observation datasets to extract indicators and value-added information.
- Develop analytical models and processing methodologies to support new EO-based services.
- Integrate satellite data with other datasets to improve the quality and relevance of generated insights.
- Document methodologies and produce technical reports, ensuring the quality, traceability, and reproducibility of analyses.
Technical Tools
- Python or R programming languages.
- Geospatial data analysis tools and platforms.
- Earth Observation technologies and datasets.
- GIS tools and geospatial processing environments.
Desired Profile
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Earth Sciences, or a related field.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar role.
- Strong knowledge of remote sensing technologies, geospatial data, and Earth Observation applications.
- Proven experience working with geospatial tools, GIS platforms, and datasets.
- Understanding of Earth Observation sensors and image processing techniques.
- Availability to work on an on-call basis when required.
- Good communication and analytical skills.
Nice-to-Have Qualifications
- Experience applying EO analytics to urban environments (e.g., land-use monitoring, mobility improvement).
- Experience with data fusion techniques.
- ISO 9001 training or certification.
