Inova-Ria participated in the Final Event of the Portugal Blue Digital Hub (PBDH), held at the Leixões Cruise Terminal, bringing together partners, companies, experts and key stakeholders from the Blue Economy ecosystem to celebrate the achievements of a project that has played a significant role in accelerating digital transformation within the sector in Portugal.
Led by Fórum Oceano and supported by a broad consortium of organisations, the Portugal Blue Digital Hub was created to foster the digital and blue transitions, promoting innovation, competitiveness and sustainability across maritime industries. Throughout its implementation, the project delivered a range of initiatives focused on digital adoption, skills development, open innovation, technology experimentation and ecosystem collaboration.
As part of the programme, Inova-Ria joined the panel discussion “PBDH Initiatives for Ecosystem Transformation”, which explored the impact of the project’s main initiatives on the development of the Blue Economy ecosystem. The session addressed topics such as the role of open innovation and acceleration programmes, the impact of funding and investment mechanisms, regional development, workforce upskilling, and the importance of data collection, availability and analytics in supporting innovation and informed decision-making.
The event provided an opportunity to reflect on the progress achieved throughout the project while discussing the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead. It also highlighted the importance of collaboration between companies, research and technology organisations, clusters and public entities in building a more innovative, sustainable and digitally enabled Blue Economy.
While the Portugal Blue Digital Hub project has now reached its conclusion, its impact will continue through the strengthened networks, enhanced capabilities and collaborative initiatives that will support the future growth and digital transformation of the sector.
Inova-Ria congratulates Fórum Oceano and all project partners for their commitment and contribution to this important initiative and remains dedicated to supporting actions that foster innovation, digitalisation and competitiveness across strategic economic sectors.
