Luís Simões has taken another step towards decarbonising its logistics operations with the integration of its first fully electric truck, the MAN eTGX, which will operate daily between Porto and Lisbon. This initiative reinforces the company’s commitment to more sustainable and efficient freight transport operations.
In addition to the new electric vehicle, the company has installed 300 kW fast chargers at its logistics centres in Carregado and Vila Nova de Gaia, in partnership with REMO, creating infrastructure prepared to support the electrification of heavy-duty fleets.
The new truck includes advanced driver assistance systems and digital monitoring platforms, reflecting the logistics sector’s growing investment in technological innovation, energy efficiency and emissions reduction.
Luís Simões’ sustainability strategy also includes the renewal of its light vehicle fleet, with the goal of reaching 50% electric or plug-in hybrid vehicles by 2030.
