GS1 Portugal has recognised 10 companies for their commitment to reducing carbon emissions in logistics and transport operations through the Lean & Green programme, a European initiative focused on supply chain decarbonisation. The awards were presented during the Lean & Green Summit, which brought together industry experts and companies to discuss sustainability challenges in the sector.
The recognised companies implemented measures such as fleet electrification, renewable energy adoption, route optimisation, warehouse energy efficiency improvements and eco-driving programmes, achieving emission reductions of over 20%, with some surpassing 35%.
Among the awarded companies were ID Logistics, Recheio, Santos e Vale, Brasmar, Bel, Carreras and Terra Alegre, highlighting the growing commitment of the logistics sector to more sustainable and efficient practices.
During the event, the importance of innovation, energy efficiency and the adoption of new technologies was also reinforced as key drivers for accelerating climate transition and improving the competitiveness of logistics operations in Portugal.
