Position Details
- Location: PCI – Via do Conhecimento, Ílhavo, Portugal (Hybrid Model)

Key Responsibilities
- Lead and technically coordinate Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) studies.
- Develop, update, and validate Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs), ensuring compliance with applicable standards and Product Category Rules (PCRs).
- Support the implementation and maintenance of Digital Product Passports (DPPs), ensuring the collection, organization, and management of the required product information.
- Contribute to the preparation of Sustainability Reports in accordance with CSRD, ESRS, GRI, and other applicable reporting frameworks.
- Collect, analyse, and validate Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) data.
- Ensure technical compliance of sustainability projects with national and European regulatory and normative requirements.
- Collaborate in defining methodologies, processes, and tools to support sustainability service delivery.
- Monitor developments in sustainability, circular economy, decarbonisation, and environmental regulations.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of methodologies and the organization’s sustainability service portfolio.
- Produce technical content, studies, and supporting documentation.
Ideal Candidate
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Sustainability, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years’ proven experience in sustainability, environmental management, or specialised consulting projects.
- Advanced knowledge of Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) software, including SimaPro, GaBi, openLCA, and One Click LCA.
- Strong experience in ESG data analysis and sustainability reporting.
- Demonstrated experience managing complex projects and leading multidisciplinary teams.

Essential Technical Competencies (Hard Skills)
- Advanced expertise in Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) in accordance with ISO 14040 and ISO 14044.
- Experience coordinating and preparing Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs), including scope definition, data collection, modelling, verification, and publication.
- Strong knowledge of the technical and regulatory requirements related to the Digital Product Passport (DPP).
- Proven experience preparing Sustainability Reports in accordance with CSRD, ESRS, GRI, and other international reporting standards.
- In-depth understanding of the EU Taxonomy, the Ecodesign for Sustainable Products Regulation (ESPR), and the broader European sustainability regulatory framework.
- Ability to manage complex projects involving multiple internal and external stakeholders.
- Expertise in ESG data collection, validation, and analysis methodologies.
- Experience defining and monitoring sustainability KPIs, environmental performance indicators, and carbon footprint metrics.
- Proficiency with LCA software and sustainability data analysis tools.
- Strong analytical skills, technical accuracy, and attention to detail.
Relevant Professional Experience
- At least 5 years’ experience in sustainability, environmental management, or specialised sustainability consulting.
- Proven track record leading and delivering Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) projects across different industrial sectors.
- Experience implementing Digital Product Passport (DPP) requirements.
- Experience preparing and reviewing Sustainability Reports for medium-sized and large organisations.
- Participation in projects involving Life Cycle Assessment, carbon footprinting, circular economy, and decarbonisation.
- Experience working with certification bodies, independent verifiers, clients, and regulatory authorities.
- Experience managing technical teams and supervising specialist service delivery.
- Demonstrated ability to define methodologies, plan activities, ensure quality control, and meet project deadlines.
- Experience identifying business opportunities and developing sustainability-related services.
Nice to Have
- LCA Practitioner certification or advanced training in Life Cycle Assessment.
- Experience implementing ESG programmes and corporate sustainability strategies.
- Advanced knowledge of CSRD, ESRS, EU Taxonomy, and ESPR.
- Experience participating in international sustainability, circular economy, or environmental digitalisation projects.
- Project Management certification (PMP, PRINCE2, or equivalent).
- Knowledge of Power BI, Business Intelligence tools, and ESG platforms.
- Experience with decarbonisation programmes, Net Zero strategies, and Greenhouse Gas (GHG) emissions accounting.
- Participation in technical working groups, industry associations, or sustainability initiatives.
- Fluent English, with experience managing international projects and clients.
